"Hard-Boiled Eggs"

It's easier to peel hard-boiled eggs if you add a teaspoon of vinegar and a tablespoon of salt to the water they cook in. Vinegar will also keep them from cracking.

"Diet Dressings"

To cut calories, make vinaigrette salad dressings from milder vinegars like balsamic, champagne, fruit, or rice wine vinegar. They're less pungent, so you can use a higher ratio of vinegar to oil.

"The Marinade Secret"

Vinegar helps tenderize the tough protein fibers in meats, so using it in marinades and braising liquids helps make your dishes even more succulent. Simply add some garlic and your favorite spices to balsamic or wine vinegar and you've got a marvelous marinade!!

To remove gum stuck on fabrics, warm a cup of vinegar in the microwave. Dip an old toothbrush in the gum and brush the gum until it comes out. It saved my husbands shorts!!!

"White Marks Got You Down?"

When you let down hems on clothes such as skirts, dresses, and pants, there is often a white mark where the fabric was turned up. Vinegar can be used to get rid of this pesky stain. First warm up your iron, and then scrub the mark with an old toothbrush dipped in white vinegar that has been diluted with small amount of water. Then press with the iron. The mark will usually come right out, but if it doesn't repeat with process until it doesn't repeat the process unit it does. If not, then repeat.

"Underarm Stains"

When dealing with stains left by sweat and deodorant, we always turn to vinegar. Soak underarm areas in vinegar for 10 minutes before washing, and the yellow stain (and the smell) will be gone by the rinse cycle. If this doesn't work, you can also try rubbing a paste of baking soda and vinegar into the stains before washing in the usual way.

"The New Jeans Cure"

Every time we get a new pair of jeans, we wash them in white vinegar mixed with water. Why? It will remove their stiffness and make sure they stay color-fast. Just throw them in the wash with 10 fluid ounces of vinegar and your usual amount of soap. Add feel free to add other clothes, too! Vinegar is great for your wash.

If your glasses are beginning to develop a fine film due to too many trips through the dishwasher, soak them in a bath of warm vinegar for an hour. They'll emerge sparkling clean.
