"Concrete Stains"

Unsightly marks on sidewalks and patios are often caused by tar, gum, and pet urine. These can usually be removed with vinegar, so if you're having trouble removing a stain from concrete, try dousing it with vinegar and letting it sit for a day.

"VINEGAR FOR YOUR CAR"

If you have to leave your car outside overnight in the winter, mix three parts vinegar to one part water and coat the windows with this solution. This vinegar and water combination will keep windshields ice-and frost-free. A rag soaked in vinegar is also a great way to get rid of lime buildup on windshield wipers and other parts of the car.

"Drain Volcano"

Most people know the old science fair project of mixing vinegar and baking soda to cause a chemical reaction worthy of a model volcano, but not many know that this powerful combination is also a great drain cleaner. Baking soda and vinegar break down fatty acids from grease, food, and soap build up into simpler substances that can be more easily flushed down the drain. Here's how to do it: Pour 2 ounces baking soda and 5 fluid ounces vinegar into your drain. Cover with a towel or dishrag while the solutions fizzes. Wait 5-10 minutes, then flush the drain with very hot water.

"Increase Soil Acidity"

If you live in a hard water area, add 1 cup vinegar to 4 liters water, then use it to water plants that love acidic soil, such as rhododendrons, heather and azaleas. The vinegar will release iron into the soil for the plants to use.

"KEEP AWAY CATS"

One of the worst things you can discover in the backyard is that your cat has (once again) used your kids' sandbox as his littler box!! Pour vinegar around the sandbox to keep cats away. Reapply about every two months just to be sure.

"Vinegar: Your Iron's Best Friend"

When ironing, mix one part white vinegar and one part water in a spray bottle. Use it on your garment to help remove iron-made creases (or make creases where you want them). This vinegar and water solution can also help remove shiny areas on the fabric that can be caused by hot irons. When you're done ironing, spritz the solution on collars and underarm areas to prevent yellow marks. Then spritz on the ironing board itself and iron white it's still damp to keep the board fresh. A paste of vinegar and baking soda can also clean the base (sole plate) of you iron.

"GET RID OF WEEDS"

Use white vinegar straight from the bottle to pour on the weeds and grass that come up through the cracks in your sidewalk or patio. After a couple of days, the weeds will die and won't reappear for several months.
